Modern brass instruments can make quite a sound when played in unison. The brilliant sound is due to the narrow metal tube, cylinder-shaped bore, and wide, flared bell. Brass instruments can also reproduce a mellow sound, jazz musicians especially make full use of the differente moods that can be created by the trumpets, saxophones and flutes.
